Dear Santa,

This was one hell of a mother fucking year!

It’s crazy how so many things happen and you aren’t really conscious of them until you look back in retrospect and you are like- oh shit! Did that really happen??. Lol…that’s what it feels like right now. Does this happen to you?

Yeah Santa, 2021 was a horrific year- mostly disappointing but so many heavy wins. Every year, I get to plan and design a vision board together with my very good friend- Adeola and we would do quarterly reviews to see the progress we had made and restrategize/reprioritize where necessary. We started this in 2019 and we have been pretty consistent with it. This year, around the middle of the second quarter, I told Adeola, that I wasn’t interested again cos the year was turning on e own. I was done! A year I had really high hopes for was beginning to get very disappointing with a seemingly very slow run.

Looking back at the year, I think it wasn’t all that disappointing- and I tried curating some big moments (win and losses)

Here are some of my big things for 2021- in no particular order

• I had a car accident- a head-on collision. This was the first time I would have had an accident of this magnitude since I started driving.
• I thought I found love twice- turned out it wasn’t my own. Someone might need to tell my mom that I am trying so hard at this love thing.
• Somehow managed to own 3 cars this year. I swear, it’s not a really big deal. All 3 cars won’t buy a GLE 450…so don’t try to hail me.
• I left Kudi after a thrilling two years of doing products there.
• Worked with 5 startups on developing, managing, and scaling their products and product teams.
• Did a solo trip to Ghana
• I still blink a loooooot
• I had food poisoning more times than I could count.
• Did a group trip to the Republic of Benin with a couple of strangers who turned out to be friends.
• My sister got married to the love of her life
• Got a sweet offer to join a fast-growing company. I turned it down to build Zilla.
• I Started Zilla with an amazing team
• We raised a six-figure round for Zilla- attracting some of the best investors from around the world to pick interest in us.
• Launched the MVP for Zilla and got real people using what we built- so fucking cool.
• I started wearing neckpieces- I think they look cool, my friends think I look ridiculous. I know they are only hating.
• Grandpa died
• My other sister also finished uni- which was dope!
• Timi started writing code this year actually.
• Timi also came to visit. That was so nice. That would be the longest time we have been together since he become more aware.
• YC said no
• A whole lot of investors said no.
• I gained weight and lost it
• I started the gym and quit the gym
• Ajah boys took my two side mirrors while I was in the car and there was nothing I could do. Still beats me that that shit happened.
• Did a train trip from Abk
• Did a road trip to Ekiti
• I made so many new friends
• I made a new friend
• I made a lot of money from crypto
• I lost money to DOGE and all the shit coins you can think of
• Lost a couple more cash through other means I can’t talk about in the public
• I made more money in 2021 than I have made in any other year. Trust me, I didn’t 23x my income- only Daniel can do that. I am Samuel.
• I started therapy
• I was diagnosed to be depressed.
• I quit therapy
• Did quite a lot of experiments with my hair
• I got an assistant. I pray I don’t get fired.

So Santa, I think it was a pretty decent year. I however feel next year should really be better. Santa. I hope to try this love thing one more time next year. Please make it work. Thanks.
